Sources from espn, bengals.com, and profootball.com are all indicating that free agent WR Terrell Owens will prehaps become a Cincinnati Bengal. Cincinnati offered T.O. a contract so now all eyes are on him whether he accepts the offer or not. Bengals president and owner Mike Brown said the following about the situation, “We have interest. We are talking to him.” If all goes well T.O. should except the offer and be at training camp which starts on Thursday, however what will it mean for receivers Cosby, Simpson, and Briscoe if T.O. accepts the Bengals offer.

Back in March when the Bengals were talking to T.O., Chad was lobbing for his friend and saying if T.O. comes to Cincy, T.O. could be batman and Chad would be robin, but the Bengals decided to take Antonio Bryant instead. Well a couple months later A.B. knee issues started flaring up so the Bengals started thinking maybe they should have a back up plan just incase, so they started looking at T.O. again. Also last week espn reported that Carson was throwing to T.O. the past couple of weeks and he called up Marvin Lewis and said he looked good and would approve of him. Soon after Chad started talking again saying things like batman is going to join me in Cincy this year. So here’s the question, if T.O. accepts will he be Chad’s running mate and put A.B. in the slot, or vise versa with T.O. and A.B.? So here’s one last thought, if T.O. becomes a Bengal just think how disgusting the offense will be. That’s all for now, Who Dey!

MB: Well I just wanted to tell you that we picked up Jermaine Gresham and Jordan Shipley in the draft.

CP: That’s great news! It’s about time you get me my very own Antonio Gates and Wes Welker, I guess now we might be able to win a playoff game and make it to the Super Bowl.

MB: I was thinking the same thing buddy; besides, I had to show the organization and the NFL that I’m learning how to make the right decisions when it comes to my franchise.

CP: I’m glad you’re learning too cheif, keep up the good work.

MB: Oh and Carson, Alan Fanica is not out of the question yet either.

CP: uh.. ok cheif thanks again. I’ll see you soon, bye

After the first two nights of the NFL draft the Bengals have come up with plenty of talent that can help them right off the bat and could be the key to making a run in the playoffs and possibly the Super Bowl.

The Bengals first round draft pick was Oklahoma tight end Jermaine Gresham. Gresham did not play a game in the 2009 season due to a knee injury which has been repaired, but when he’s healthy he is a beast. In 2008 he had a career high of 14 TDs and he averaged 14.4 yards per catch. Also he got a reputation for being a clutch receiver when he came up big catching Oklahoma’s to touchdowns against Florida in the 2009 BCS Championship game. Another quality he has is that he can block, so this might mean free agent Reggie Kelly might be out of a job, making Coffman Greshams back up.

Cincinnati’s second round pick was Florida defensive end Carlos Dunlap. Dunlap is a great pass rusher, but most likely will be backing up Robert Geathers. However the Bengals will probably use him in third down situations to rush the QB. The only bad note about Dunlap is, is that he got a DUI four days before the SEC Championship game and so he got suspended for that game.

The Bengals had two picks in the third round, the first pick was Texas wide receiver Jordan Shipley and the second pick was Wake Forest cornerback Brandon Ghee.

Jordan Shipley is known as a play-maker, he was always there when former teammate and now division rival Cleveland Brown quarterback need a go to guy. Shipley has come up big in many key games including the national championship game where he had 10 receptions for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Shipley is also being compared to former Bengal T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker. With his talent Shipley will be a perfect slot receiver on all downs especially on third downs where he could become Carson’s go to guy for third down conversions just like T.J. was.

Brandon Ghee brings depth to the Bengals secondary. He’s a very quick guy and could possible make the NFL’s top corner duo into a trio. Ghee will most likely be competing with Trent Morgan for the last nickle corner job.

Dear Mr. Brown,

Probably every Bengals fan has heard or either seen that the organization is interested in T.Old, Antonio Bryant, and Brandon Marshall. But here’s the thing, there is only one receiver that actually help us in the long run and I think we all know who that is, Brandon Marshall.

This decision of picking up Marshall should be a piece of cake. Even the NFL analysts say Marshall would be a perfect fit for Cincinnati. So why don’t you just give up the first round pick for a proven NFL receiver instead of trying to draft one that may not develop into the kind of receiver we need, seeing that you already made that mistake two years ago passing up DeSean Jackson and drafting Jerome Simpson. I’m not saying that T.Old won’t help us or even Antonio Bryant but there is issues with both of them. First of all T.Old is 36 and is getting slower coming off the line of scrimmage, also you have to think about all the chaos he has brought to the other teams he played for. Then you have Antonio Bryant, he’s a good receiver when he’s healthy, but the fact that he’s injury proned could hurt us more than he could help us. So ask yourself Mr. Brown, what’s going to help us in the long run, is it going to signing a great old receiver for one year or maybe signing an ok receiver that it’s going to hurt us when he gets hurt, or you could go with the smart choice and go with Brandon Marshall who has just begun his great career and will help keep the Bengals on top of the AFC North and NFL for years to come. So I’m going to speak for myself and the rest of Bengals Nation, give up the first round pick and sign Brandon Marshall because most likely we’ll regret it at the end of next season.

                                                                                                         Sincerely,

                                                                                                    Ethan McDaniel

Sources around the NFL including ESPN’s Adam Schefter are reporting that the Bengals are interested in pursuing Broncos WR Brandon Marshall. If so the Bengals would only have to give up there 1st round pick in the 2010 draft which in this case is the 21st pick. The Bengals are in need of another receiver because once you get past Ochocinco and Caldwell you don’t have much experience. Also the if the Bengals were to draft a receiver in the draft they aren’t guaranteed to develop into a genuine NFL receiver, so why not give up the first round pick for an already young established receiver.

Also the Bengals are interested in 36 year old receiver Terrell Owens and 28 year old Antonio Bryant who is the youngest decent receiver left in free agency and is expected to be in Cincinnati for a visit on Tuesday.

In other notes, free agent DT Tank Johnson has almost reached a deal and will once again be wearing stripes this coming up season.

It’s against NFL policies to change your number during the season, but who cares right. Chad has talked about wearing 15 tomorrow against the Chargers in remembrance of Chris Henry who passed away Thursday. The NFLPA said they would back Chad and pay any fine thrown his way for wearing #15 but they later found out they couldn’t.

The fine Chad could face if he wears the jersey could be pretty hefty, but Chad doesn’t care, he’s just doing it to honor Chris, he’s not trying to get attention like people are saying, theway I see it, Chad is doing his way of grieving. Personally I support Chad 100% and I hope he does end up wearing #15. Also if Chad scores, his celebration will be what Chris always did, throw the ball up in the air as high as he can throw it.
